This postgraduate qualification in accounting offers specialist knowledge and skills and a deep understanding of sustainability issues and global accounting trends.

During your study, you will undertake these specialist activities to graduate well-prepared for a senior accounting position:

  • execute case studies and business plans
  • assess and complete a substantial research project or evidence-based capstone activity
  • adapt cross-disciplinary knowledge to evaluate business decisions with creativity
  • develop specialist knowledge in accounting, economics and finance.

Upon completion of this course, you'll be eligible to apply for accreditation with CPA Australia and/or Chartered Accountants - Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ)*

You may be eligible to apply for accreditation with Chartered Accountants - Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) as long as you have successfully completed BLO5539 - Australian income Tax Law and Practice. Please note that for CA ANZ accreditation, exemption for BEO6501 - Quantitative Analysis as an integrated unit applies only if BLO5539 - Australian income tax law and practice is completed successfully in your BMAK study. You must provide evidence that you have completed an approved English language test, and achieved the result as described below:

  • IELTS (Academic Module): Overall score 6.5 (no band less than 6.0)
  • TOEFL Internet: Overall score 79 (section scores no less than: Listening 19, Speaking 19, Reading 18, Writing 22)
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score 58-64 (no section score less than 50)
  • University of Cambridge - Advanced (CAE): Total score of 176 (no individual band less than 169)
  • VU English - University Preparation UPU (Undergraduate): Achieved
  • English Language School in Sydney (ELSIS)- EAP 2 (advanced): A grade.

Students who do not meet the English language requirements may choose to undertake an intensive English course at the English Language School in Sydney(external link) (ELSIS).
